North Kingstown lies on the west shore of Narragansett Bay, and the town beach is a nice little park on the waterfront. Jeffee and I visited the beach on our Rhode Island driveabout. It offers a good view of the North Atlantic north of Conanicut Island out to the west coast of Aquidnick Island.

We were there for the sunrise, but the sky was overcast gray. Still it was a pleasant spot. with a good sandy beach. A snack bar (closed that early) stood near the parking lot, and a cute playscape lay between the snack bar and the sandy beach. A large grassy green field lay along most of the beach. A steady breeze blew off the calm ocean.

Jeffee looked into the My Little Library there and found some pretty good books, including a biography of Calvin Coolidge.

From there we drove across the south coast to Watch Hill.

  1. What a wonderful neighborhood beach with so many amenities. I’d love to go back on a sunny day and test the water.
